Prayer of a Cat

My grandma bean gaves this to Mommy Bean. It reads

Lord of all cats:

Help me to act unknowing when I know, to appear casual.
When my blood pounds in hungry lust;to make the half - dead mouse think it has escaped at last,to make them think I do not care. about the bird.
Help me in the art of pretense.
I do not care for honesty or dishonesty.
The art I value is somewhere in between.
I am a true politician.
Help me to keep them guessing.
