I am a shelter kitty. I was very lucky the people at Grayson County Humane Society took me in and cared for me. I was so matted and dirty they actually thought I was a GIRL kitty! They soon found out I still had my mancat bits and once I was well had my mancat- ectomy. I am proud to say I will not help over populate the cat world.So heres the deal, seeing as June is Adopt a Shelter Cat month I am going to show you some kittens and their moms who are at my favorite Humane Society. Please pass the word that these lovely females and their babies will have all their shots and be fixed when they go to a new home. Will it be part of yours?

We're all shelter kitties too; "angel" Chumley was the first. Our human would never consider anything but a shelter/rescue cat.
ReplyDeleteWe're so happy you have such a wonderful forever home and wish that eventually all people will be responsible caretakers, eventually all people will be educated, and ensure their cats and dogs are altered. It's a big wish, one we won't see in our lifetimes, we know, but still, we can hope...and advocate.

ReplyDeleteWe have our paws crossed they all find good homes! At least they made it to a shelter...all of us were "dumpers" who were lucky enough to find Mommy & Daddy's house.

She is secretly hoping to find another kitty for our brother or sister, but our Daddy is against that idea!

aw, this is a nice post. we agree, rescuing is the only way to go! i was not a shelter kitty, mommy found me on the side of the road-manbits still attached. i'm sorry to say i probably helped increase the stray cat population. sigh.
