Grayson Co Humane Society's cupboard is bare

The cupboard is bare! At least the cat food portion! Since the shelter lost the regular shipments of free cat food from Hills Bros. (Science Diet), buying food has been a terrible drain on the precious and limited shelter funds based 100% on donations! Please consider making a donation, in cash or in kind, specifically for cat food so the meows can eat! Please use the paypal link in the website or mail M.O.'s, checks or gift cards (Wal-Mart are best) to Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA 213 William Thomason Byway, Leitchfield, KY 42754.

The mom asked if the kittehs like a specific food and she was told "Tuna, Friskies pate, or 9 Lives flaked tuna are the types most preferred by the kitties." if yoo wants to buy the Noms on walmart dot com and ship it to Grayson. As always, the shelter is run by volunteers and is dependent on us to help them remain open.

Happy 2nd Gotcha Day Trooder!

Two years ago, Trooder was in a cage, at PetSmart waiting to be adopted. Trooder came from Grayson County Humane Society in Kentucky because there was no more room there. Trooder's wish for today is to help the other furries at Grayson.

Yoo see kittehs and woofies, dat shelter tries furry hard to find homes fer all dere furry furiends, but they are now on over load. So many beans dont do the responcible fing by spaying and nuetering OR some are just mean and will dump their fureind there acuz they "can't afford them, don't have enough time or are moving". To the mom and many those terms are unacceptable, we ARE part of the family! You wouldn't dump your child, mom, grandparents somewhere to be looked after by strangers would you?

Look at Graysons page, and if yoo can't adopt, donate or even send sum yummy treats or food to dem.

Tattle Tale Tabby Tuesday

Hai Kittehs, wow its been ages since dat the mom has let me do my T4! She blames it on the new day huntin job but she dun hunt 24 / 7 does she? Poop on her pillow!!!

So here's whats been goin on -

Grayson Kitties - Rosemary gottdid a FULL sponsorship from a wonderful member of the Cat Blogosphere. A few of us sent in donations towards the full sponsorship of her kittens and for Landry, Eastwick, Paploo and Lorenzo. Now, Landry, Eastwick, Paploo and Lorenzo all gotidid full sponsorship so all green papers left over went towards the sponsorship of Rosemary's kittens. only Caraway, Chicory and Chive need full sponsorship - Justin and Paprika gots theirs.

This badge is for the CB beans that reached out and helped - all the way from as far away as Australia to the mid west of the USA! Yoo beans ROCK!!

Guess who will has a Purrthday on July 15? Dat's right, Trooder will be FIVE whole years old this week! Come by on Thursday to help us celebrate!

Happy Birthday America!

A quick reminder from Mom -

The following have a PTS date of MONDAY JULY 5. I was told by Grayson that if any animal has a sponsorship that the PTS will be put off. A sponsorship basically, involves making a donation in any amount to help cover the vetting needs of the shelter pet of your choice. If you would like to pay the full sponsorship fee for a cat or kitten, it costs $55.

EDIT - GOOD NEWS - Lorenzo, Eastwick, Landry and Paploo got FULL sponsorship by other people this weekend. Any other donations that mentions Rosemary's kittens will be put together to see how much is needed for full sponsorship of the kittens. They aren't out of trouble yet, but its a start!

Wednesday with Trooder

Molly, Shadow and Jake think Im hogging the blog lately and I know I am but I have so many impawtant things to say!

MY mom has dubbed me the ambassador to Grayson County Humane Society you all know thats who rescued me and I am furever grateful to them for not only helping me heal but to also find MY mom! Today I was told there were 10 mama kitties with 38 kittens to find homes for! The list I have does not include all of them but take a look and if your 'rents or some of their furiends are looking for a kitty (and even a nice doggie or two) take a peak at these wonderful furry loves, that would love to be in a furever home.

Mancat Monday - Adopt a shelter kitteh

I am a shelter kitty. I was very lucky the people at Grayson County Humane Society took me in and cared for me. I was so matted and dirty they actually thought I was a GIRL kitty! They soon found out I still had my mancat bits and once I was well had my mancat- ectomy. I am proud to say I will not help over populate the cat world.

So heres the deal, seeing as June is Adopt a Shelter Cat month I am going to show you some kittens and their moms who are at my favorite Humane Society. Please pass the word that these lovely females and their babies will have all their shots and be fixed when they go to a new home. Will it be part of yours?

This is Lily and her 6 kittens.

Meet Mia, shes a lovely House Panther!

Mia has 5 kittens (4 Russian blue and 1 house panther)

This is Mother.
Her kittens are - Cotton Tail, Mopsy and Flopsy.
The kittens are beautiful grey tabby / tuxie kittens.

has 3 kittens.

This video is Calypso and her kittens. She is already spayed due to a problem while giving birth.

Mancat Monday - Special kittehs

Before I tell you my story I have to say, if you think you are too far away to adopt these kittehs, you really aren't. Transportation can be arranged to the North East and also if you go to Pilots N Paw's and ask for help, they certainly can do that too. (They are a group of volunteers that fly their own planes to transport animals to good homes!)

Hai, today I has sumfin to talk about that is special to me. If you recall I was first rescued with a group called Grayson County Humane Society in Leitchfield, Kentucky. I happen to think that that place is wonderful. The beans there all love and care for us and when one of us is hurt, they all seem to hurt too. Anyway, I digress .... There are some very special kittehs (they have feline leukemia or Fiv) there that need some good homes. They are all adults (or almost adults) and find it hard to get a home because they aren't a kitten and because they have special needs. I wish all beans were able to take special needs kittehs, like MY mom and wouldnt care that we are a bit different from the rest.

This handsome ginger boy is Cap'n Mikey. He is fiv+ but that doesnt stop him from being a prankster or a lover boy!

This southern gentleman is Marlowe. Marlowe just became a mancat - he had his first birthday in January 2010. Marlowe is fiv + but would surely love a home to call his own.

Meet Pelman! He is a bit rough looking, but he's had it rough for a few years living outside without a home to call his own. Pelman has to been shown what love can do for a kitty as he is still a bit uncomfortable around people. Are you that special person? Pelman is fiv +.

Isnt Aurora beautiful?? She isn't a year old yet but will be in a few months. Wont you celebrate her first birthday with her by giving her a warm, loving home? Aurora is FeLV + and longs for a home where love is abound!

This dreamy eyed guy is Joseph. Joseph is two years old and is very easy going. He likes to chillax in his cubby at the shelter but boy does he want a home of his own! Joe is FeLV+.

I think Casey looks a bit sad in his piccy. He is about one year old and was found wandering around. He wants to get to know you better, would you adopt him? Casey is FeLV+.

This handsome ginger guy is Butters. This picture is of him the first night at the shelter. He weighed a whole 4 and a half pounds when he was brought in. Butters is a mancat of 3 years (apx). He is super special and would love a human of his own. Butters is positive for FeLV and Fiv.

Meet Second. He is almost a geezer at apx 7 years old. He was found at deaths door thinking starving was not the way to die! Since being found, he's gained some weight and now looks foward to a retirement home. Will it be with you? Second is FeLV and Fiv +.

Thankful Thursday (sorry its furry wordy)

All of us here are Thankful that we have each other (even if one is a stinky woofie) and dat our the mom (mommy bean, the mom lady or mom) takes furry good care of us.

We are also thankful that we are a part of The Cat Blogosphere!

And I Trooder (NoWhere Man) am thankful that Grayson County Humane Society in Leitchfield,Ky took me in when I was a lost kitty and fixed me up. The supporters on Petfinder that rallied for me in THIS thread and THIS one. To all the kind people who wanted to adopt me but couldnt for some reason or another, I thank you for your kindness and for not adopting me - I LOVE MY MOM LADY and she loves me! Finally, I thank NOAH that brought me from Kentucky to here to be adopted and loved.

So we peeked at Trooders page from the Humane Society he first was brought to. They nows has a part of Success stories of animals that was adopted out and Trooder (aka NoWhere Man) has his story up there of finding a home wif us AND how he loves loves loves it here!
