It's never good-bye, it's see you later.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to type this (and tears that flow very freely).
We finally found Fatty to bring to the vet. What they found was not good. Fatty had feline aids. She was so weak and could barely walk. Yet she choose to stay near this house and us, I think.
It was decided that Fatty could not suffer any more, 4 of us (myself and the big male bean and the couple downstairs) decided that it was time to see her cross over. You see, the vet said that Fatty was about 10 years old and we didn't know how long or even if she would survive long. Plus, she was an outdoor kitty who loved nothing more than being there, to ask her to stay indoors away from other cats would kill her all in its own.
Fatty was helped to the bridge Thursday at about 330 pm est. She was brought home in a special box with a beautiful flower on top. Later, when the rain stopped, a hole in the back yard was dug so that we could lay Fatty where she always liked to be. A bag of kitty food was put in with her, so she could share some food across the bridge.
Right now, someone has put a statue of 3 kittens up on top of her spot. We have plans to put a piece of slate down where she lays, in her memory.
I will tell more of her coming to this house story later on, when my eyes don't leak so much.

We didn't know Fatty well, but we are sad to learn he has left us... yet trust that having crossed the bridge, he is in a place of warmth, sunshine on his shoulders, and feeling well and happy... and of course staying "fat". Purrs and prayers to all of you.
We did not know Fatty well, either, but am very happy to know she had such a loving family, respectful of her needs above all else.
She was a very lucky girl.
You are all in our prayers and thoughts. KC will make an entry on the Purrs & Purrayers "Bridge Angels" as Fatty is the newest little angel.
Love,
ML

I'm very sorry, too. I'm glad you found the strength to help her, and that there is a place where she'll be remembered. A bag of food? She'll be so popular when she gets to the Bridge! All the kitties will mob her, and the woofies and buns and hams will ask where is their food? And the kitties will share!
Bless your hearts today, and the couple's downstairs.

We didn't know Fatty, but we stopped by to leave condolences. She was a beautiful calico, somewhat like our Cyndi. She was fortunate you loved her enough to be persistent so you could help her. She really needed that help.
And you were right that she would have been unhappy being cooped up, even though ill, after a life of fresh air and freedom.
We are so sorry to hear about Fatty. That is such sad news! Thoughts and purrs are with you.
