(Sleepy) Mancat Monday

Kittys we has a question, Mommy Bean's brother's kitty Marie isn't doing well. She has hads this problem but it goes away but happens every month for about a week. She stops eatting, she can't poop and she sleeps alot. She's been to the vet and they said it was compacted intestines which they cleaned out with an enema's. (EEeeek!) She is responsive when her's name is called but she doesn't get up. Do's any bean know what the issue is? The v-e-t doesn't seem to know whats going on.

Molly here.

So guess what kittys? Shadow is sleepy, ok he is napping.

I am a mancat, I do lots of ummmmmmm stuff.

What? Why are you looking at me that way Mom?

Ok fine, I am here, waiting for my boy, let me nap will ya?

He said that because it was "His" day that he could do what he wants. Personally I think it is because he plans on celebrating with the rest of the furrys on the blogosphere tonight.

Poor Marie, that does not sound very fun. Maybe, when she cannot poop, she would try something natural like pumpkin in her foods (NOT pumpkin pie filling, just plain canned pumpkin).

Oh, poor kitty Marie! We don't know what to tell you other than to suggest you push your vet for other tests, or try another vet.

I'm afraid I don't know what is wrong with Marie, but you can be sure that I am purring for her to get better from whatever it is! That sounds very icky. :(

Thanks for coming by to raise a toast to Eight Belles, and Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Not The Mama says get a second opinion from another vet - sounds like a change in diet is in order.

I say, "Happy Cinco de Siesta!"
(That means it's time for my fifth nap of the day!)

hey - what kinds of diets is MArie eating? maybe you should try more natural diet, some kibbles have additives that are not so ogod for kitty diets. and then also -supplementations with pumpkin. you can put about a tablespoon in their foods. that will help to keep their intestines going so there is no blockages. we gets pumpkins when we feels a little consti-pated. usually vets are not traineds too well in diets I think so you has to make sure you has a good diet. we personally eats natural raw prey diet. thereis info on our site.
It seems like the stopping eating and sleeping a lot has to do with being all blocked up so once you get that taken cares of you should be fine. it doens't hurt a try. Cehck if your kibbles has beet pulps, that is one of the badder things.
Also make sure she gets enough water, that's why canned is way better than kibbled.

Thanks so much for all your comments. Marie is a tad bit better today.. She is outside and soaking up the sunshine.
She stuck up her wiskers at the Pumpkin filling. I will try to force feed her again today. As for water she isnt doing well in that department either. So will give her more water again. I will keep you posted.. once again thanks.
