TT's Saturday Matinee

OMC's! Thank Bast fer this lady in Siberia!?!?

A Russian woman has opened her tiny two-room apartment to strangers in need - she's taken in 130 stray cats. 50-year-old Nina Kostsovo lives in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk. She picked up her first street cat 15 years ago and has since not been able to let a cat in need pass by without helping it. Source: Reuters

But of course thats not the only case of wanting to lend a helping hand. Here in the USA in 2006 2 sisters were charged with hoarding 130 cats. Click HERE to read the story.

This is an PAWSOME music video...featuring a special free-flying Bald Eagle named 'Challenger' (in honor of the lost space shuttle crew) cared for by the non-profit American Eagle Foundation (AEF).

He's a 'human socialized' bird accidentally raised by the people who rescued him - after being blown from a wild Louisiana nest in a storm as a baby in the late 1980s. Declared 'non-releasable' by federal and state wildlife authorities, he was trained by the AEF to perform educational free-flight demonstrations at high profile public events

He's the first Bald Eagle in U.S. history that learned to free-fly into stadiums, arenas and ballrooms during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. The celebrity eagle has appeared at numerous major sporting events...like the World Series, Pro-Bowl,

All-Star game, BCS National Championship, Fiesta Bowl and Men's Final Four, etc. Challenger has also flown before 4 U.S. Presidents! His life story is told in a children's storybook titled 'Challenger, America's Favorite Eagle.'

Did yoo know that June 20 of every year is American Eagle Day?

Wow! What a difference there was in the way all the cats are taken care of in Siberia and in those two sisters' house! I guess it's the difference between someone who really wants to help and some nut cases. I really enjoyed the Challenger video. That is so great that he can fly around like that.

That sure is a lot of cats. I am glad that they have a place to get out of the cold, and they seem to be pretty well cared for. I like how they have tiny little chairs to sit on!

Your Halloween background is spooky!

PeeS When Mum and Dad gor married there were two bald eagles sitting on a tree stump right outside the whole time, Mum and Dad always say they are probably the only folk who can claim they had Bald Eagles as wedding guests!

I think it's kind of sad to have 130 cats in a 2 room apartment. They can't be happy even if they have stuff to eat. It's pet hoarding. Usually when you've got that many, they don't get the medical care they need, the grooming, etc. It's just sad.

Mickey has a point, it looks like she takes good care of them sure hope she has help and someone to take over 'just in case'. Dat eagle is amazing. Mom loves da birds of prey and raptors. Effury time dey go to da zoo dat is da first place she stops den she goes to da big cats. Da only reason she doesn't go to da big cats first is acuz da birds is afore dem on da path.

Wait, I thought Stephen Colbert's pet eagle was America's favorite eagle! Has Stephen been lying to me all this time?!
