Mancat Monday

I fink dat today should not be about us mancats but about a bean man dat is helping 500 PLUS kittehs.

Craig Grant is a bean guy dat didn't like cats. He lived wif his son and when his son moved out he agreed to take care of his son's cat Pepper. Five months later Pepper gave birth to 5 kittens.

Oh great, now what? She had five kittens. I wanted to give them away because I didn't want my beautiful home destroyed, but my son told me they had to stay with their mother for 8 weeks. Over that time I learned that every cat had his own unique personality and it wasn't long before the kittens were swinging from my curtains. I didn't care. Something had changed... I didn't want to give them up.

So Craig had to move acuz there were many complaints about all da kittehs in his condo. Craig had nowheres to go (just like sum of us formarlly feral kittehs). Craig did move to his sons for a short stay and bought 30 acres of land later on.

I cleared a small area and bought an office trailer as a shelter for my cats. I put in a pet door and padded shelves for them. We moved out there in November of 2003, the day after Thanksgiving. By that time I had 11 cats. I had taken in abandoned and stray cats from the neighborhood and areas that I work as a contractor. I had 22 cats by the spring of 2004.

Caboodle Ranch is now a permanent sanctuary for cats who have been kicked around by heartless people. There are many sad stories between all the cats I've taken in. Some almost starved to death, some of them wounded strays. I've seen many locked in cages for months in animal shelters and have taken in some of those too.

Okay so here's whats great about this bean man - he takes in all the kittehs wif the blessing of Tallahassee Huumane Society and Tallahasee/Madison County Animal Control. All da kittehs has had the "operation" and shots. They see a vet and are fed furry well.

Craig is in need of a fence to keep coyotes out The Caboodle Ranch. This is going to cost aproximately $10,000 he finks. So far he has gotten close to $7000 but still needs more fer da fence and also to help feed da kittehs that he saves.

We fink he is a good bean man and if yoo can help keep da mean coyotes out of da Ranch please help donate. Yoo can find more information HERE at his site. Yoo can also read his blog HERE.

The mom lady thinks she may have an idea to help Craig raise green papers - stay tuned!

These are da kittehs that live there now.

What a nice guy! It's funny how the cats grow on you. I wanted to watch the video, but it didn't work. There sure are a lot of cats there though! I'm heading over to see his blog now.
