Please stop by Camie's Kitties and give thems purrs, Tavi is making his last vet journey today.

Fierce Fighter Day

We is postin two fings today. Jake of course had to have his FROOTBATS done so we lets him. Now on fer da MORE impawtant stuff -

Whiskers & Purrs are sponsorin’ Fierce Fighter Day today in honor of Felix and all of Those Who Came Before who fought illnesses or any other struggles.

Fatty was the mom's stray kitty dat she was trin to get to be more of an inside kitty. Fatty was a good kitty and even wud come inside to sit awhile.

Then the mom noticed Fatty was not so healthy and tried many times to get her to a v-e-t.

Eventually the neighbor bean helped wif dat and it was discovered too late dat poor Fatty had FIP. The mom still misses her lovely stray kitty who lubed the mom and trusted her completely.

TT had kidney disease. She hadid it fer awhile, the v-e-t said dat she more den likely hadid it before the mom found her. In March the v-e-t told the mom dat TT's kidneys were not well.

TT held on, despite the v-e-t sayin she only hadid 2 weeks at most. TT never told a single kitty on the blogosphere acuz she wanted to be happy all to the end wif em all. TT's last days were spent at home wif mommy bean. (The mom's eyes are leakin really bad now so we's goin to end this.)

To my wonderful TT Girl

With a heavy heart, I scooped up TT in my arms Tuesday night. I carried her in my arms in the car to the vets to help her cross the bridge. She sat on my chest, her eyes looking all around as we drove. I thought I may be making a mistake by doing this today but she had other plans. We opened the carrier at the office and she willingly walked in, something she never did. I knew she was ready. She went to sleep peacefully at 5:25 pm est. She was brought to Angel View this morning where she will be cremated. She was an indoor kitty and will remain so. I should be getting her home next week sometime.

Rest your head sweet one. Go and wait for me, because someday I will be there with you. I know now, you are not hurting. I still get up and look to where you had your stinky goodness to see if I need to give you more. I look from the kitchen table, to your sleep spot pillows and find a shadow of you. My minds eye plays aweful tricks right now. In the short time we had with each other you have made me happy when I was sad, loved me when I was cranky, and gave me all your love unconditionally. In the end, I hope you knew that I was your strength when you had none.

Lighting a Candle for TT

I have lit a candle for TT Girl. I would have prefered to have her follow a light then to have me put her in a carrier and brought down to be helped. I made a promise that I wouldn't do that anymore, but this one promise has to be broken. I can't see her suffer any more with the pain she is feeling. I brought her home, I feel, under selfish reasons Saturday night and now I am second guessing if I did the right thing.

She looked up at me with those trusting eyes full of love (which now are also filled with pain) when I first rescued her. That would have been two years come this September. My gut wrenches knowing that I may have caused her more pain than needed to be for her because of my own emotions. I love her, she is another child to me, as all our cats and furry (and non furry) friends are to us all.

I will update as soon as I have done what I can for my little girl.

It's never good-bye, it's see you later.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to type this (and tears that flow very freely).

We finally found Fatty to bring to the vet. What they found was not good. Fatty had feline aids. She was so weak and could barely walk. Yet she choose to stay near this house and us, I think.

It was decided that Fatty could not suffer any more, 4 of us (myself and the big male bean and the couple downstairs) decided that it was time to see her cross over. You see, the vet said that Fatty was about 10 years old and we didn't know how long or even if she would survive long. Plus, she was an outdoor kitty who loved nothing more than being there, to ask her to stay indoors away from other cats would kill her all in its own.

Fatty was helped to the bridge Thursday at about 330 pm est. She was brought home in a special box with a beautiful flower on top. Later, when the rain stopped, a hole in the back yard was dug so that we could lay Fatty where she always liked to be. A bag of kitty food was put in with her, so she could share some food across the bridge.

Right now, someone has put a statue of 3 kittens up on top of her spot. We have plans to put a piece of slate down where she lays, in her memory.

I will tell more of her coming to this house story later on, when my eyes don't leak so much.

Furry Fighter Friday

It's never a good bye, it is always See you later!

Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know I'll see you again someday

Someday, Someday

For Storm, whom we all hope to meet on the bridge. She is a true hero!
